Osteopathy in Marbella
We see osteopathy as a therapeutic discipline based on the use of manual techniques to relieve pain and restore the body’s overall balance, through a holistic approach that considers the person as a whole, taking into account not only where discomfort occurs, but also how different parts of the body are interconnected.
We aim to understand what may be contributing to each patient’s problem. We carry out an individual assessment and adapt the treatment to their needs and circumstances.
How we work
The first appointment begins with a conversation about the reason for your visit, your medical history and any other relevant factors. We then carry out an assessment to understand how the body is functioning as a whole and identify any potential imbalances.
Treatment is adapted to each individual and may include different manual techniques depending on what we find during the assessment and how the patient responds.
Your appointment
Each appointment is tailored to the individual. We take the time to listen, assess your situation and explain the approach we consider most appropriate.
The number and frequency of appointments are not determined in advance, as they depend on each individual case and how it progresses. When necessary, we recommend consulting other healthcare professionals.
When can osteopathy be helpful?
People come to us for a wide range of reasons, particularly when they experience musculoskeletal discomfort or changes in mobility that affect their everyday lives, as well as problems involving the nervous system, which may also affect digestion, sleep, the menstrual cycle, dizziness or tinnitus. We also see patients with traumatic and sports injuries, among other concerns.
Osteopathic assessment is not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment. If we consider that your case requires assessment by another healthcare professional, we will recommend an appropriate specialist.
Two generations, one approach
Miosteopata is a family osteopathy practice in Marbella, established in 2005. Two generations of osteopaths share the same approach to the profession, based on individual care, listening and a personal, friendly manner.
The experience gained over the years is combined with ongoing professional development and a shared principle: each person should be assessed individually, rather than applying the same treatment to apparently similar problems.
What is osteopathy and how does it work?
Osteopathy is a therapeutic discipline based on manual techniques that aims to improve the mobility and function of the musculoskeletal system, considering the body as a whole.
The study of osteopathy involves four years of university-level training, covering its three main branches: structural, visceral and cranial osteopathy.
Osteopathy has its own methodology, practice and philosophy, which distinguish it from physiotherapy, massage and techniques of Eastern origin. Its approach is based on a holistic view of the body, paying attention to the mobility of its different structures and the relationships between them.
The practice of osteopathy should follow ethical and professional principles, always taking into account the indications and contraindications of each technique. It is therefore essential to assess each patient’s individual circumstances before deciding on the most appropriate treatment.
Osteopathic Care at Different Stages of Life
At Miosteopata, we also provide osteopathic care tailored to different stages of life, including pregnancy and the postnatal period, as well as paediatric care for newborns, babies and children. In each case, we take into account the person’s age, circumstances and individual needs.
